Can my pet eat before their spay/neuter surgery? We recommend NO food after Midnight the night before surgery. Do not feed your pet breakfast, but allow your pet to have access to water. Once your animal is conscious after surgery, we will offer them a small amount food. If your dog is a Boxer, Pug, Pekinese, English Bulldog, French Bulldog, Boston Terrier, or your cat is a Himalayan or Persian, please do not feed them after 9 pm the day prior to surgery. This is for their safety. If your dog or cat happens to eat in the morning, please bring your animal in and discuss this with the Veterinarian.
